Thu: 8.30 – 10.00, building E2.6, room E.04
Fri: 10.00 – 12.00, building E2.6, room E.04

This lecture will be given in English.

Lecture

This lecture introduces the basic concepts and experimental methods of modern optics with an emphasis on laser physics and quantum optics, starting from the theoretical description up to current applications. The lecture is intended for Bachelor and Master students of Physics, Quantum engineering, as well as interested students of other courses, recommended from the 4th semester on.

Lecture exercises

The lecture is accompanied by a seminar where presentations are given by the students. This seminar is planned for the end of the semester. Details will be discussed in the first lecture.

Format

The lecture is given in a hybrid format: in addition to the in-presence lecture, we enable online participation via the MS Teams conference system (live stream from the lecture hall). Furthermore, recordings of the lectures are made available (unedited) after the respective lecture date so that they can be accessed and viewed at any time.
