Responsibilities of the Research Committee
The responsibilities of the Research Committee include:
- Preparing decisions on research matters affecting the entire university (within the framework of the strategic guidelines set by the University Executive Board and the Extended University Executive Board),
- Drawing up proposals for the establishment of research priorities
- Drawing up proposals for the coordination of research projects and research priorities.
Funding Programmes of the Research Committee
Another important responsibility of the Research Committee is the provision of internal research funding within the university. To this end, three funding programmes are announced annually:
- Major Research Instrumentation Programme (major research instrumentation under Article 91b of the Basic Law, major research instrumentation funded by the federal states including CIP pools, WAP clusters)
- Research Investment Programme and Teaching Investment Programme
- Start-up funding for research projects
The Research Committee conducts an evaluation process and submits proposals for funding to the University Board. The University Board decides on the allocation of funds.
