Franco-German Master's programmes

Students enrolled in Saarland University's Franco‑German Master's programmes study in German and French and cultivate a distinctly international perspective. You'll learn in an environment where multilingualism, intercultural exchange and cross-border thinking are key elements of your university studies.

Thanks to close collaborative ties to numerous partner universities in France, many programmes include double degrees plus integrated study and practical training phases in both countries – you'll acquire the skills and confidence to thrive in international, Franco‑German and Francophone environments.

What you can expect from our Franco-German Master's programmes:

  • Bilingual study: Courses taught in German and in French help you develop your language proficiency and intercultural competence.
  • Double degree: Students on many of the Franco-German Master's programmes earn two separate degrees – one French, one German. In some cases, graduates even receive a degree qualification from a third country.
  • Transnational opportunities: Partnerships with 41 French universities, memberships in university alliances such as Transform4Europe and UniGR, and cooperative internship agreements offer diverse opportunities for cross-border study and learning.
