  • The application deadlines listed here are internal deadlines for submitting your application to Saarland University's International Office. The application deadlines at partner universities may be different. To apply, please submit all documents listed in the partner university's checklist. The application deadlines are:
    • 1 February to begin in September or October, depending on the host university
    • 1 September to begin in March or April, depending on the host university
  • Both Bachelor's and Master's students are welcome to apply to study abroad at any of our partner universities.
  • Applicants must have a basic knowledge of Japanese (typically demonstrated by completing three Japanese language courses at Saarland University). With the approval of the Japanese language teacher at Saarland University, students can also apply with a lower language level or, depending on the requirements of the programme, with no Japanese language skills.
  • Applicants should have an average grade of 2.3 or better (German university grading system).
  • Your application must be submitted on time via the International Office online application portal.

Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo

Doshisha Women's College (DWCLA), Kyoto

At a glance

Nestled between cherry blossoms and pagodas, Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts is located in one of Japan's most traditional cities, Kyoto. This private university offers a broad spectrum of study programmes and hosts 6,400 students in six faculties and five graduate schools across two campuses—Kyotanabe and Imadegwa. Hiroshima University, Hiroshima

Tohoku University, Sendai
