GASP 2023: Travel and Lodging
Here is a selection of hotels in Saarbrücken that participants at other department conferences have used in the past:
Approaching from the east (Mannheim/Karlsruhe):
Take the A6 Mannheim–Paris motorway as far as exit/Ausfahrt St. Ingbert West. Follow road signs to main entrance of the university.
Approaching from the north (Koblenz/Trier):
Take the A1 motorway as far as junction/Autobahnkreuz Saarbrücken, then take the A8 motorway as far as junction/Autobahnkreuz Neunkirchen. From there proceed towards Saarbrücken (see: approaching from the east). This is a detour, but it will spare you from having to experience a lot of slow-moving traffic through the center of Saarbrücken.
Approaching from France:
Take the Paris–Mannheim motorway as far as exit/Ausfahrt St. Ingbert West. Follow road signs to main entrance of the university.
Approaching from Luxembourg:
Take the A620 motorway towards Saarbrücken as far as exit/Ausfahrt Bismarckbrücke. Follow road signs to main entrance of the university.
(Current road construction projects at the time of your trip might indeed meaan that, um, your mileage may vary [groan].)
Since parking on campus has become fairly expensive, we suggest you park in one of the parking garages. Parken auf dem Campus / Parking on campus (Deutsch/English).
