It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing of our esteemed colleague, Remus Gergel.

Prof. Remus Gergel was a highly respected and deeply valued member of our department and the wider faculty. He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements, but also for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering support of students and colleagues alike.

This loss comes as a profound shock. Our thoughts are with Remus' family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him within the confines of our department, in the Dean's Office of our faculty, or in the wider academic world.
