Frau Melanie Platz nimmt ihren Dienst als Professorin für Didaktik der Primarstufe – Schwerpunkt Mathematik an der Universität des Saarlandes auf.
Melanie Platz, zuvor Hochschulprofessorin für Mathematikdidaktik in der Primarausbildung an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Tirol, nahm am 1. März 2021 ihren Dienst als Professorin für Didaktik der Primarstufe – Schwerpunkt Mathematik an der Universität des Saarlandes auf.

Der von der DFG finnazierte Sonderforschungsbereich/Transregio „Symbolische Werkzeuge in der Mathematik und ihre Anwendung“ wurde für weitere vier Jahre bewilligt.
Von 2021-2024 wird er  mit insgesamt rund 8,5 Millionen Euro finanziert. Die Mitglieder in diesem Verbund sind TU Kaiserslautern, RWTH Aachen und die Universität des Saarlandes.
