Alumni Reunion 2026

Saarland University alumni take a walk down memory lane at first alumni reunion.

The Saarland University alumni reunion on 12 June 2026 provided alumni with the perfect atmosphere to reminisce, exchange experiences, forge new connections and catch up with old friends.

The event was kicked off with a welcome drink, giving attendees time to catch up before the event was officially opened with a speech by the University President, Prof. Dr. Ludger Santen. Then, Prof. Dr. Frank Mücklich introduced the University Society (Universitätsgesellschaft) and its work supporting Saarland University. The speeches were rounded out by Prof. Dr. Manfred Schmeling, who shared personal anecdotes and words of appreciation for attendees and by Alumni Office coordinator Nadja Ickert, who gave a sneak peek into the office's alumni outreach work at Saarland University.

The evening's highlights included alumni speed dating, where participants shared many interesting conversations in a short period of time, and the 'Time-travel room', where fascinating documents from the university archive were displayed, giving attendees the chance to explore university history. 

The evening drew to a close in a relaxed atmosphere with food, drinks, good conversations, shared memories and new ideas for the future.
