Applying for an Erasmus+ semester at a Transform4Europe partner university
The European university alliance Transform4Europe (T4EU) is a collaborative partnership involving universities in Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, France, Slovenia and Germany. The transnational T4EU alliance enables students to acquire intercultural skills and add an international dimension to their academic career without having to go through complex credit recognition and credit transfer procedures.
If you'd like to spend an Erasmus+ semester studying at one of our partner universities within the Transform4Europe university alliance, please apply by completing the online application form below.

Application period for winter-semester stays: 1 February - 3 March
Application period for summer-semester stays: 1 September – 31 September
You will need the following documents:
- CV (in tabular form; in German and in the language of instruction at the host university)
- Personal statement / Letter of motivation (in German or English; max. length 1 page (A4))
- Bachelor’s degree certificate (Master’s students only)
- Transcript of records from your current programme of study
- Scan of your identity card/passport
- Proof of language proficiency (Important note: If you do not have a certificate of language proficiency at the recommended level, please upload a blank document via the field provided for this purpose in the application portal. If necessary, you will be provided with access to an EU language test at a later date.)
International Student Identity Card for Erasmus+ students
Students at Saarland University who spend time studying at a T4EU partner university via the ERASMUS+ programme will receive a free digital International Student Identity Card (ISIC) that includes the functionality offered by the European Student Card (ESC). The digital ISIC card with integrated ESC functionality can be accessed through the ISIC app on your phone, giving you access to a whole host of benefits and useful services during your time abroad.
