Saarbrücken Graduate School for European Research

Excellently qualified early-career researchers sustainably secure the strength and expertise of Saarland University's European research focus. The promotion of early-career researchers in European research at Saarland University is structurally embedded in the Saarbrücken Graduate School for European Research of the Cluster for European Research. The Saarbrücken Graduate School for European Research brings together doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers with their own Europe-related projects in the humanities, cultural studies, law and social sciences. At the heart of all projects lies the question of how concepts of Europe are projected, transformed and reflected, and how they can be empirically researched. The Saarbrücken Graduate School is a think tank for new projects within the framework of the CEUS research theme 'Europe World(s) – Projections, Reflections, Transformations'. Through their integration into an international and research-intensive academic environment, members of the Graduate School find excellent research conditions at the CEUS and at Saarland University, and are given the opportunity to build their own networks at an early stage of their academic careers.

The leadership of the Graduate School reflects its interdisciplinary breadth and currently rests with Prof. Dr. Georg Wenzelburger (Political Science), Prof. Dr. Dominik Brodowski (Law), and Prof. Dr. Astrid Fellner (Cultural Studies).
