The Role of Criminal Law in Our Times – AIDP Section I – General Report
Section I of AIDP's XXIIth International Congress of Penal Law analyzes the current role of criminal law, that is its rationale, its foundations, and the politics of criminal legislation. Under this umbrella, we will evaluate the issues addressed in contemporary legislation of criminal law, the goals that are pursued by politicians and parliaments when discussing and enacting new criminal laws or abolishing old ones, and what this reveals about the role (or ‘place’) of criminal law in our times.
General Rapporteur
Dominik Brodowski has been appointed to draft the general report for AIDP Section I in the 2024-2029 scientific cycle.
Questionnaire
The questionnaire has been sent out to national and special rapporteurs, and is available here for any interested parties. It contains further information on the scope, research questions, and timeline of the project.
