Nesarajah, M.; Frey, G.: Multi-physics Simulation in the Development of Thermoelectric Energy Harvesting Systems. Poster Presentation at the 34th Annual International Conference on Thermoelectrics & 13th European Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT & ECT 2015), Dresden, Germany, Jun. 2015.

Abstract

This contribution presents a model-based development process for thermoelectric energy harvesting systems. The process is divided into different steps and supports the developer in finding an optimal thermoelectric energy harvesting system for a given heat source and given objectives (technical and economical). During the process several steps are supported by simulation models. Based on developed model libraries in Modelica®/Dymola® thermal, thermo-electrical, electrical, and control components can be modeled, integrated in different variants, and verified step by step before the system is built in real hardware and finally validated. The process is illustrated by an example through all the steps.
