Certificate of authenticity issued by the APS Academic Qualifications Verification Office
Applicants from certain countries of origin must submit a certificate from the APS Academic Qualifications Verification Office (Akademische Prüfstelle) in order to be admitted to study at a German university.
APS is a service unit of the German Embassy that is managed in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It currently operates in China, Vietnam and India.
APS evaluates and verifies the authenticity of school and university certificates submitted by international applicants and checks whether the formal requirements for studying in Germany are met. If the verification process is successful, APS will issue an APS certificate. Applicants with educational qualifications from a country covered by the APS must present an APS certificate when applying to study in Germany.
Applicants must submit the APS certificate before the end of the relevant university application period.
For more detailed and authoritative information on the verification procedure, possible exemptions and information about the offices themselves, please refer to the websites of the individual APS Academic Qualifications Verification Offices.
