Department of Romance Languages

The Department of Romance Languages is one of the largest departments in its field in Germany, comprising six professors, two senior professors and one honorary professor as well as 35 academic researchers and teaching staff. Regularly achieving top scores in the CHE University Ranking, our key research areas are literature, cultural studies and linguistics. Students can choose from a wide range of study programmes in French, Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Portuguese and minority languages in the Romance-speaking world.
