The Kautenburger research group deals with analytical methods and measurement techniques, especially in the field of elemental analysis.

Special interest lies on the following research topics:

• Development and application of innovative coupling methods (CE-ICP-MS, LC-ICP-MS, LC-ICP-QQQ, MSE-ICP-MS) for speciation, environmental and bioanalytics
• Speciation analysis of metals with organic and inorganic complex ligands in repository research and environmental analysis 
• Trace element analysis and element screening in inorganic and organic matrices
