Giulia Curatoli

Before I came to Germany, I was afraid that the professors would be very strict. But I found the professors I interacted with at Saarland University were very friendly and approachable. Through these exchanges I learned many ideas that still shape me today. I will always be grateful for that. I also met a lot of friends and travelled a lot.

Something that sticks out in my memories is the Centre for International Students, which planned a lot of excursions. My favourite memory from my time abroad was the trip to Strasbourg in December 2016. We wandered through the Christmas Market and drank mulled wine with friends. It was a perfect day.

What really makes Saarland University special is all of the programmes for international students. The university organizes excursions, Cultural and Culinary focus days in the Mensa and international country evenings, or 'Länderabende' which all enrich student life. Because of these events, I was never bored. Thank you!
