11th Teachers’ Day: The madness of methods – different routes to EFL competencies

Continuing our series of successful and popular Teachers’ Days, the English Department of Saarland University in cooperation with the ZfL, the LPM and the ILF invites teachers, teacher trainees and students of English to the

 

11th Teachers’ Day

7th of October, 2014, 09:00 - 16:30

at Saarland University

 

This year’s Teachers’ Day focuses on different routes to EFL competencies, the overall question being: How can we use a range of methods to develop our students’ communicative competencies from CEFR levels A1 to C1? Amongst others there will be workshops on 

 

  • the storytelling approach
  • drama pedagogy
  • task-based learning

 

Invited speakers and workshop leaders include: Adrian Underhill, Günther Sommerschuh, Matthew George, Martin Genetsch, Richard Martin, John Hudson, and Marise Lehto.

 

There will also be a book exhibition by educational publishers running the length of the event.

 

Online registration will be possible as of 14 July 2014. Please note that participants must register by 30 September 2014.

This event is recognized by the Ministerium für Bildung und Kultur (Saarland) and the Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft, Weiterbildung und Kultur (Rhineland-Palatinate) as an in-service training course (Fortbildungsveranstaltung).
