Jornada hispánica: Spanish teachers' day

The way Spanish is taught is changing: skills focus, media developments, changing task formats, heterogeneous learning groups, different language requirements are just some of the challenges that Spanish teachers are currently facing. But it is not only the framework conditions for teaching and learning Spanish that are changing; deep-reaching developments are taking place as well in Spanish-speaking societies around the world which are reflected in the various languages, cultures and literatures and (can) therefore also become the subject of Spanish lessons.

For these reasons, the Department of Romance Languages at Saarland University regularly organizes the jornada hispánica on the first Friday of December, to which you are cordially invited to attend. The jornada is recognized by Bildungscampus Saarland as a form of continuing professional development.

Intercultural Communication Fields of Practice: theory meets professional practice

The Intercultural Communication Fields of Practice project is dedicated to connecting theoretical knowledge with professional practice. In two workshops per semester, professionals from different occupational fields provide insights into their working world and collaborate with students to develop practical skills in areas such as social media, human resources development, migration, foundations and journalism.

The aim is to critically reflect on and actively shape social diversity, transformation processes and cultural and political institutions from an interdisciplinary perspective. At the same time, the fields of practice offer valuable orientation for potential career prospects after graduation and the chance to acquire intercultural skills in action.
