And if you don’t have time yourself, why not let your siblings or friends know? Even better – come together!

The new courses are tentatively start on 6 September 2025. Registration is open now and runs until 16 June 2025.

Language Overviews

Chinese (Mandarin)

Chinese culture dates back thousands of years, and nearly a billion people speak the language today. Although China is 7,000 kilometres away, that distance is becoming less and less important. Economic ties are growing rapidly, and travel to cities like Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong is becoming increasingly accessible.

Japanese

Of course, you can read manga translated into German – but to truly enjoy these comics, it helps to know more about the language and culture behind them. The land of samurai and high-tech offers countless opportunities for new experiences, education, and career prospects.

Korean

Popular K-pop bands like BTS or Le Sserafim, gripping series like Squid Game and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and the cool capital Seoul with its futuristic architecture – Korea has a lot to offer. High-tech made in Korea is just one more reason to take an interest in the country. And there’s no reason not to learn the language! Sure, the script and pronunciation can be a bit of a challenge – but they’re not that hard.

Greek

Swimming in the Aegean is great – but holidays are even more enjoyable when you can speak the language and read or write in Modern Greek.
Our new course offers exactly that and is specially developed for young people with Greek roots.

Russian

Around 210 million people speak Russian. And Russian-speaking countries have much to offer: a vibrant cultural heritage from Tolstoy to punk music, numerous universities and research institutions – and an alphabet that’s not so different from our own.
Russia remains a fascinating country, even if its current politics may suggest otherwise. That’s all the more reason to engage with the language, the people, and the culture – to discover a different, forward-looking Russia. Or to explore other countries where Russian is spoken, such as Moldova or Ukraine.

Turkish

You don’t have to travel to Turkey or work for a Turkish company to find Turkish useful. It’s spoken not only by 74 million people in Turkey but also by about one in every fifteen residents of Berlin.
Istanbul – the only city in the world that spans two continents – is home to internationally renowned universities and is becoming an increasingly popular multicultural travel destination.
