Courses for Staff

The Language Centre offers members of staff at Saarland University language courses, language breaks, workshops/ateliers, and individual coaching in English and French.

Lecture-Free Period February / March 2026

Want to practise your English? Come along for a walk with English on the Go! You’ll find more info on the intranet, or just drop us a line at englisch(at)szsb.uni-saarland.de. 

The “Sprachpausen” (Engl: Language Breaks) will continue during the lecture-free period as well – we are especially looking forward to the 200th “Thursday Talk” in April!

Summer Semester 2026

The registration period for summer semester 2026 has begun! Choose from English courses at

  • A2 English for the Workplace (Tue 8:15 - 9:15 a.m.)
  • B1 English in the Professional Environment (Wed 12 - 1 p.m.)
  • B1+ Office English (online) (Mon 1 - 2 p.m.)
  • B2 English at Work: Discussing Current Issues (Tue 1 - 2 p.m.)
  • Language breaks in
    • English (Thursday Talks, Easy Talks)
    • French (Pause française)
  • Individual support through
    • English coaching
    • Coaching individuel en français

Registration

In order to register, you must first acquire the approval of your supervisor. The current agreement with both the academic staff council and the administrative staff council remains in place, so there is no need to request individual approval from the staff council.
