Language Meet-ups
Chatting regularly in a relaxed and welcoming environment with native speakers or advanced learners – whether in the evening or during your lunch break – is one of the most enjoyable ways to practise and improve your language skills. Language meet-ups are available for the following languages and cultures. Why not drop by and join the conversation?
Language Meet-ups
German-Chinese Language Café on campus
Would you like to practise your German or Chinese in a relaxed atmosphere and meet new people? We warmly invite you to our CAMPUS LANGUAGE MEET-UP – a great opportunity for German-speaking and Chinese-speaking students to get to know each other and start conversations.
- FIRST MEETING: Thursday, 30 April, 6:00–8:30 pm
- Further meetings: always on the last Wednesday of the month during the semester in 2026, from 5:00 pm. These are:
- May: 26/05/2026
- June: 30/06/2026
- September: 30/09/2026
- October: 28/10/2026
- November: 25/11/2026
- December: 30/12/2026
- LOCATION: KHG Café. You are welcome to bring snacks or games, but this is not required.

German Sign Language Meet-up
Everyone interested in German Sign Language is coridally invited to our German Sign Language meet-up.
It doesn’t matter whether you have a lot of experience or are just starting out – whether you’re deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing – the more diverse, the better!
- When? Every 3rd Tuesday of the month, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Portuguese Language Meet-up
Venha falar com a gente!
The Portuguese Mesa Redonda will also meet regularly in the Summer Semester 2026 with Ana Clara de Andrade from Portugal. Her enthusiasm for the Portuguese language and culture is truly infectious.
We will meet on the following dates: Thursday, 23 April; Tuesday, 19 May; Thursday, 18 June; Tuesday, 7 July. You can find the current flyer with dates and location here.

Spanish Meet-up – Wednesday Lunchtimes
As part of the Transform4Europe alliance, our Language Centre hosts weekly 45-minute sessions moderated by a native Spanish student. It’s a space to talk about Spanish language and culture – and enjoy some tapas together at lunchtime! All levels of Spanish are welcome. Everyone’s invited!
