Prof. Dr. Tsing-Young Dora Tang

The Tang Lab is an interdisciplinary lab which bridges bottom-up synthetic biology, biochemistry, biophysics to build minimal synthetic cellular systems. We use our bottom up approaches to address questions in the Origin of life, Artificial cell synthesis and to unravel the physico-chemical principles of modern biological systems. 

Particular interest is geared towards a better understanding of:

• Role of compartmentalisation in in regulating biochemical reactions
• Establishing out-of-equilibrium behaviour in synthetic cellular systems
