Information for doctoral researchers

Your PhD journey: from fascinating research to a fulfilling career

Around 2,700 researchers are currently working towards a doctoral degree at Saarland University in more than 150 disciplines. Doing PhD research is both challenging and enriching. At the Early Career Office, we aim to offer effective support to all first-stage researchers (R1) and to help them move forward with confidence towards their individual career goals. A range of teams and service units from across the university have developed programmes, workshops and support services for early-career researchers. This page provides a useful summary of what's on offer. You will also find information on funding opportunities within Saarland University and from external providers.
