The PPB is available to all students and staff at Saarland University and Saarland University of Applied Sciences (htw saar). Consultations are confidential and free of charge.

Counselling services for public-sector employees (PSB)

The PSB offers public-sector employees in Saarland psychological counselling and guidance services. Access to support is provided quickly and with minimal formalities.

Addiction Counselling and Social Welfare Unit

Substance use counselling

  • Questions relating to substance misuse and addiction
  • Support in choosing appropriate therapies, clinics, counselling centres or self-help groups
  • Training/coaching on how to support people with substance use disorders
  • Preventive work addressing workplace conditions and interaction/collaboration between managers and staff during or after an addiction-related illness
  • Coordination of an in-house self-help group

Psychosomatic counselling

  • Advice on psychosomatic disorders
    • Signposting and referrals to counselling services, medical specialists, therapists or clinics
  • Support when applying to residential rehabilitation programmes
  • Burnout prevention
  • Support with workplace-related issues
  • Facilitated discussions and workplace mediation
