Funding options for doctoral students
How can I fund my doctorate?
A doctorate is both an exciting academic journey and an investment in your future. To help you focus fully on your research, there are several paths to securing financial support during your PhD.
Common funding routes:
- Employment at the university: for example as a research associate, in research management, or as a graduate research assistant.
- Work outside the University: professional roles in companies or other organizations.
- Scholarships ad grants: there are numerous options available, including full scholarships, partial awards for specific phases, or external funding.
Additional funding:
PhD research students may also apply for supplementary funding to support research and career development activities, such as academic publications, research stays abroad, conference participation and networking.
