Quantum Computing Algorithms

Simulating materials on quantum computers

We develop and apply quantum computing algorithms for the simulation of quantum materials and many-body models. Our focus are algorithms that can be run on noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) hardware, including variational algorithms and quantum error mitigation methods.

Current topics of interest are algorithms for the simulation of 

  • Thermal and ground-states properties of correlated electron systems
  • Nonequilibrium dynamics of quantum many-body models
  • Quantum error mitigation
