Elective internship

Pharmacy, 5th semester according to the study plan · start by arrangement, not during the Clinical Pharmacy block seminar · 112 hours, at most three months · elective subject under the German Licensing Regulations for Pharmacists

In the elective internship, students spend a few weeks in our group working on a project of their own, alone or in small groups. Topics come from our current research and teaching, and students are welcome to suggest their own. The work starts with a literature search, followed by the actual project, for example with modelling software, patient data or a survey. Students are supervised by members of our group. At the end, they present their results in a talk. We present our topics at the department's information event on elective internships.

Topics (examples)

• PBPK modelling with PK-Sim, for example of drug interactions or in children
• PK/PD and systems pharmacology models
• Pharmacogenetics and drug-gene interactions
• Medication safety and medication management, for example in pharmacies and nursing homes
• Digital teaching, for example electronic patient cases
• Artificial intelligence in drug therapy
• Surveys and health services research, for example on vaccination

Please apply by e-mail to Prof. Lehr at least six weeks before your preferred start. Please state your current semester, preferred start date, preferred topic area and include a short letter of motivation (half a page to one page).
