Cardiometabolic diseases
Type 2 diabetes progresses very differently from patient to patient, and so does the response to therapy. We use models to describe how blood glucose, HbA1c and organ function develop over time and how antidiabetic and cardiovascular drugs affect them. The aim is to identify the right therapy for individual patients earlier.
How we work
We combine disease progression models with quantitative systems pharmacology and PBPK models, for example for metformin, incretins and SGLT inhibitors. Among other sources, we use data from large European cohorts.
Network
We were a partner in the European IMI project DIRECT (Diabetes Research on Patient Stratification).
