New paper: interactions between oral drug products
2026
When two oral drug products are taken together, they can influence each other physicochemically in the gastrointestinal tract. Christopher Hauß and colleagues measured such interactions in vitro and translated them to humans with PBPK models.

Three new doctoral students
Autumn 2026
Dina Hassan, Rama Mohamad and Felix Hauer started their doctorates in Clinical Pharmacy this autumn. Dina Hassan and Rama Mohamad previously completed their master's theses with us. Welcome to the team!
TWIN-EB has started
July 2026
The TWIN-EB project started on 1 July 2026. Using virtual twins of children and adults with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, we aim to develop safe, individualised losartan dosing. The project is funded by DEBRA International and LifeArc. Partners are the Medical Center University of Freiburg, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Dr. Margarete Fischer-Bosch Institute of Clinical Pharmacology in Stuttgart.
Six master's theses completed
2026
Six master's theses were completed in 2026, among them PBPK models of lisinopril, enalapril, melatonin and semaglutide. All theses are listed under Theses.
SafePolyMed: Medication Management Center published
2026
The EU project SafePolyMed has developed the Medication Management Center. The platform helps patients taking many medicines, and the people treating them, to detect drug interactions.

CONTAIN in JAMA Internal Medicine
2025
In the CONTAIN study, azelastine nasal spray reduced PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infections from 6.7 to 2.2 percent. The results of the phase 2 trial with 450 participants have been published in JAMA Internal Medicine.
