About the department of Economics

Business administration at Saarland University can look back on a long tradition. Renowned professors have left their mark on it. More than 1,200 students study at 17 chairs, whereby the classic business education with courses in accounting, financing, taxation and co. has been expanded in recent years to include courses around the area of digital transformation. Three new junior professorships are currently expanding the subject in teaching and research.

Studies in Saarbrücken can be interdisciplinary, as students have numerous opportunities to incorporate courses from other subjects into their studies. In research, the economics department at Saarland University performs above average. It works closely with the "Kontaktstelle für Wissens- und Technologietransfer" (KWT), contributing to a vibrant start-up culture on Saarbrücken's campus.
