Other Services and Ressources on Campus
The International Office is managing all aspects of Saarland University’s international relations and activities. It is in charge of the international exchange programmes and the university’s academic partnerships, as well as of organising cultural events and excursions for international students. If you're planing to do an internship in France, the International Office will also be in charge of the "Convention de Stage" procedures.
Cultural Events by the Center for International Students—ZiS
The International Study Center is a central institution of Saarland University and prepares international applicants for their studies. They also support international students later on during their studies to ensure their academic success through courses and seminars, among them German language courses: a key factor in reaching your goals in Germany.

The Center for Lifelong Learning offers courses and workshops to develop intercultural, international, information technology (IT) and media skills. Some of these are also offered in English, while many others in German B1 level.
The AStA not only represents the interests of the students but also provide counselling services related to financial affairs, cultural events on campus, social involvement opportunities and sustainability, among many others. Also, there is an International Students Representative, who you can contact if you have any questions regarding international students' experience at our institution. The AStA also offers support through their Students@Work scheme, whose objective is to guide you and inform you on matters related to your rights as an student employee, to taxes and to social security.
The Saarland Student Services is a not-for-profit organization whose aim is to provide economic and social support and assistance to students at Saarland’s institutions of higher education. They manage the student refectories and cafeterias, the Mental Health Counselling Service (PPB), the child day-care centres, the student halls of residence, among others.
This placement service of the Agency helps students find a job. The buro also offers all the other services provided by the Federal Employment Agency, which is the main resource for newcomers in Germany. Besides job placement, they provide support in recognition of qualifications, financial aids, social insurance, and counselling to start a business. Moreover, they represent the European Employment Service (see below) on campus.

EURES is a cooperation network that seeks to facilitate the free movement of workers within the European Union plus Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. It provides information, placement and recruitment services to employers and jobseekers. Moreover, EURES plays an important role in providing specific information and facilitating placements for the benefit of employers and frontier workers in European cross-border regions (source: European Commission). Our cross-border region is called die Großregion/la Grande Région and comprises Saarland (GE), Rhineland Palatinate (GE), Luxembourg (LU), Wallonia (BE), and Lorraine (FR).
The EURES provides its services on campus through the buro of the Federal Employment Agency (see above).

At the Language Center, you can take various courses in 16 diferent languages. You can also take language examinations and obtain internationally recognised certificates, such as the IELTS and UNI-CERT. Moreover, they continously accept job applications.
GradUS coordinates and organises support for doctoral researchers at Saarland University: from financial support to the organisation of workshops to the coordination of work and leisure activities or the provision of information.
