After obtaining her degrees from Radboud University Nijmegen, she worked at the Max-Planck-Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, at the University of Reading and at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena. The German Research Foundation (DFG) has granted funding for three years for the research project "Pause-internal phonetic particles", directed by Dr. Jürgen Trouvain and Prof. Bernd Möbius. The project will focus on the production and perception of vocalisations such as breath noises and tongue clicks typically found in speech pauses. Research in the project will be based on corpus analyses and production and perception experiments and develop pause models for speech synthesis.

Dr Anna Rędzioch-Korkuz is a lecturer in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw, Poland. Her main research interests lie in the interrelationships between translation studies and semiotics, translation constraints as well singable and audiovisual translation, especially opera surtitling. Assoc. Prof. Dr Aida Kasieva teaches Translation at Manas University in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. During her stay (15 Dec - 11 Mar) she plans to research Translation Quality Assessment and Register Analysis of the Pragmatic Aspects of Kyrgyz and German Lit-erature into English.
