We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jingqi Yan from Zhejiang Gongshang University (China) to join the Computer Science and Computational Linguistics Lab for one year as a visiting scholar. The research stay is funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

Dr. Yan’s work falls in the fields of connective processing, causal relations, deaf studies and stylometry.

The German Research Foundation has granted the SFB 1102 funding for another period of four years. The SFB 1102 will receive about 14 million euros that, amongst other things, will be used to financially support 35 young researchers. [...]

The International Congress of Phonetic Sciences (ICPhS) is one of the largest and one of the earliest conferences for all aspects of phonetic research. Usually held every four years, there were 19 meetings since its inauguration in 1932. The 16th ICPhS in Saarbrücken was the first that made and maintained its proceedings online.
