When should the staff representative councils become involved?

Saarland University has an Academic Staff Council and an Administrative and Technical Staff Council.

The staff councils represent the issues affecting university staff and are responsible for dealing with many of the issues affecting members of your group. The staff councils provide support if there are problems with supervisors, line managers and/or university management, offers general advice on many employment-related matters, such as contractual issues or workplace conflicts. The staff councils also provide information on core workplace principles, such as the  Code of practice for the considerate and respectful treatment of employees.

Another key function concerns recruitment interviews. A member of the relevant staff representative council must be present at all job interviews. You will find all of the most important information on our recruitment information web page.
