Making a good impression: Media relations and web communications

How can I create my own web page?

Professors at Saarland University can create a web presence within Saarland University’s official website. Web pages that already exist on another server (e.g. at a previous university) can be migrated to Saarland University’s Typo3 content management system.

To be able to edit your web pages, you will need a Typo3 user account, which you can apply for using the online form If you have never used Typo3 before, you will need to complete a training course. The Centre for lifelong learning (ZelL) offers free Typo3 training courses.

The university’s webteam will set up your web pages and can, on request, provide assistance with regard to web content and design. The Web Team is also there to answer questions and to help resolve problems. Answers to common questions regarding Typo3 web content management using Typo3 can often be found in the Typo3-manual.

What do I need to do to make sure people can find me at Saarland University?

This can be done for you by the relevant LSF editor. Please contact your department to initiate this process. The Web Team will automatically include you in its list of professors at Saarland University.

I’ m interested in communicating my research results to academic and non-academic audiences. Who should I talk to?
