You can talk to us.
At the Saarland University Language Centre, you can acquire or improve your skills in more than 15 languages. As a central institution, we do not belong to any single faculty but are available to all members of the Saarland University community equally. This means that staff, students, and guest students can all participate in our language courses. For university employees, we offer special staff courses. Students at schools in the Saarland in grade 9 and above can take part in our youth courses.

What our language course participants are saying…
- "I’ve been learning Portuguese at the Language Centre for two years now, and I enjoy it every semester. At first, I found it particularly difficult to distinguish between Brazilian and European Portuguese pronunciation, but by now that’s no longer a problem. What I like most is that we don’t just learn the language – we also talk with the other participants and our lecturers about films, music, food, and current topics. It’s a great way to get to know the different cultures and each other better." Clara (student)
- "I really enjoyed the English course, and even though it involved a lot of work, I was able to learn an incredible amount. The close collaboration with the other students also led to strong friendships, which made the course even more enriching." Kira (student)
