Studying without a general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification

If you do not have a general or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, you may still be admitted to a higher education access course if you already have appropriate vocational or professional qualifications. In this case, there must be sufficient overlap between the content of your intended degree programme and that of your previous vocational or professional training.

Your application for a place on a higher education access course will be assessed and decided by an admissions panel. If your application is approved, you will be entitled to a place on the degree programme specified in the approval letter. Please note that an entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife) is generally not sufficient for admission to study at a university.
