Sustainable Materials and Engineering – the science that shapes tomorrow
Society requires new ways of thinking to be ready for the world of tomorrow. Sustainable materials will play a central role in transitioning into a green future. The interdisciplinary Master's degree programme focuses on this challenge. In the programme, you will learn how sustainable materials are created and be tasked with thinking and designing outside of the box to integrate these materials into all aspects of the circular economy.

It's time to think big about sustainability
At Saarland University we want to drive innovative research, raise awareness of sustainability issues and show how socially and economically responsible behaviour yields positive outcomes. Social responsibility and sustainability are now a core part of our university culture.

Saarland University says no to discrimination
Strengthening diversity and inclusion at Saarland University is a core principle that is firmly anchored in our university development plan. Discrimination, harassment and violence have no place at Saarland University. We aim to create a workplace and study environment that promotes diversity, equality of opportunity and tolerance. We offer all members of the university – students and employees – a full range of services to support those who have been affected by discrimination and to counter all forms of discriminatory conduct.
