Enrolling in a Master's programme for which applications are administered directly by the academic department

Information on enrolling in a Master's degree programme when admission applications are not submitted via the SIM application portals

The information on this page is for prospective Master's students who submitted their application for admission either directly to the responsible academic department or via a departmental application portal and now have a valid letter of admission from Saarland University.

Please read the following information carefully and follow the steps below.

1. Enrolment deadlines:
   The enrolment period is specified in your letter of application. To secure your place on the programme, it is essential that you enrol before the deadline expires. Please note that you will not be able to enrol if you have permanently lost the right of examination in the chosen degree programme.
2. Please check that you have all of the required documents for the enrolment process:
   Click the following link for a list of the enrolment documents that you will need to upload. Please pay particular attention to the information on health insurance cover for students.
3. Start the online enrolment process:

• If you do not yet have a SIM user account, you will first need to register with Saarland University's SIM application portal. If you are already enrolled as a student at Saarland University, go to the SIM student portal and enter your HIZ (UdS) ID code and password.
• Once you have logged in, select the tile Enrolment (non-restricted entry progr.), then Master's programmes (Letter of admission issued by dept.) and follow the steps as instructed.
